DESCRIPTION:This all day course is 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM \nThis class is for Kansas Residents Only – State of Kansas Curriculum \n\nThis course is developed around the State of Kansas concealed firearms carry instructional requirements with input from various law enforcement offices.  This course covers the Personal and Family Protection Act\, federal\, state\, and local restrictions\, and the laws concerning the use of deadly force\, firearm maintenance and safe storage\, equipment and ammunition selection\, proper loading\, unloading and shooting techniques\, and concludes with a written examination. \nBecause the class is based on teaching the laws in Kansas surrounding the justified use of a firearm\, it will be assumed that each student is already proficient with using their firearm. Therefore\, during the classroom portion\, very little training will be offered in the basics of firing a pistol. \nKANSAS RANGE QUALIFICATION: The fired proficiency portion of this course consists of 25 rounds.  The course is fired at distances of 3\, 7\, and 10 yards. \n3 Yards- 5 rounds\, unsupported \n7 Yards- 10 rounds\, unsupported or supported \n10 Yards- 10 rounds\, supported \n  \n***FIREARMS BROUGHT FOR USE DURING QUALIFICATION MUST BE UNLOADED (INCLUDING MAGAZINES) and CONTAINED WITHIN A HOLSTER\, CASE or BAG\, with AMMO BOXES CLEARLY LABLED WITH THE STUDENTS NAME. When the student arrives they will check in at the registers and leave their firearm and ammo behind the front counter.*** \n*NO FIREARMS OR LIVE AMMUNITION ARE ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM* \nThe written exam will be 25-30 multiple choice questions covering the material covered in the classroom regarding Kansas law and basic pistol safety. \nAll graduates of this course will receive a Certificate of Completion. \nCenterfire Instructors are certified to teach Concealed Carry for all residents of Kansas. \n  \n\nIf the number of Available Seats is zero\, then the course is sold out.\n\n

DESCRIPTION:This course is from 6:00pm – 7:30pm \nThis class is a ladies only basic introduction to firearms safety\, gun handling skills and the fundamentals of pistol shooting. Ladies are encouraged to invite sisters\, daughters and girlfriends as this class is designed to be a fun and empowering experience. Even though there is no shooting involved in this class\, students are encouraged to bring a handgun with them as the instructor will be sure to answer any questions about specific handguns and also have the students demonstrate safe gun handling skills using UNLOADED firearms.  Each student will receive a $15 voucher good towards a firearm rental or a range fee. \nThis course is the prerequisite to Ladies Basic Introduction to Handgun Shooting\, a fee-based class which begins with a safety briefing and quickly moves out to the range for live fire. \n ***NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM*** \n\n  \nBring your own gun or try one of our many Rental Firearms. \n

DESCRIPTION:Basic Pistol Shooting Course 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM \n\n  \nBasic Pistol Shooting Course – This course is geared to the novice shooter.  This class is recommended for those shooters who want to improve their shooting skills.  The course begins with a review of firearm safety\, range rules\, shooting terminology\, and moves quickly into shooting skills development.  Classroom demonstrations\, lectures\, and drills will be utilized to ensure the students understanding of the shooting fundamentals.  On the range the instructor will combine the classroom drills with live fire exercises developed to improve the students shooting.  Each student will be evaluated for their understanding of grip\, sight picture\, trigger and breath control\, and stance.  Each student will be required to demonstrate the proper loading\, unloading and immediate action drills for their particular firearm. \n***FIREARMS BROUGHT FOR USE DURING QUALIFICATION MUST BE UNLOADED (INCLUDING MAGAZINES) and CONTAINED WITHIN A HOLSTER\, CASE or BAG\, with AMMO BOXES CLEARLY LABLED WITH THE STUDENTS NAME. Designed to be the sequel to the Free Ladies Basic Introduction to Handguns\, this class begins with a safety review and quickly moves onto the range for live fire. \nOn the range and in the classroom the instructor will strive to cultivate a positive and encouraging learning environment while addressing all students’ questions or concerns.  By the end of the class\, students will have developed their understanding of stance\, grip\, breath control\, sight alignment and trigger control\, and be able to demonstrate the proper loading/unloading procedures for their particular firearm. \nThe primary goal for these two classes is to create confident and competent women shooters who can add to the fiber of Centerfire’s clientele and gain personal empowerment by participating in the shooting sports. \nAll range time and targets are provided by Centerfire. \nThe student is required to provide a handgun\, or rent one from Centerfire\, and at least 30 rounds of ammunition. No cross-draw or shoulder holsters please.\nGood quality belt that will support the holster.\nGood quality magazine pouch\nTrousers ( pants for the ladies ) that have belt loops….for the belt\nConcealment garment ( vest or jacket )\n(5) dummy rounds of appropriate caliber to your chosen handgun. Please DO NOT get plastic ones they will not survive the class.\n\nThis is a SEMI-AUTOMATIC pistol ONLY class and is designed to introduce fundamental defensive pistol tactics that will be consistent with techniques taught in all of our Centerfire Courses. Continuity during training is essential to being able to perform in a high stress environment. \n  \nThe class is held in our training room and will involve the use of UNLOADED firearms and support gear. The techniques taught in this class are based off of defensive tactics and real world gun handling skills. The subject matter is serious and the training can be physically demanding. Students must display the correct attitude towards safety and responsible use of their firearm at all times. \n  \nOther goals of this course are for the student to have an opportunity to “test” their support gear\, concealment garment and holster BEFORE conducting live-fire exercises. It is extremely common for students to discover flaws in their carry method once they begin working with a holster\, magazine pouch and from concealment. Students must complete the Into to Defensive Pistol Course or comparable training PRIOR to signing up for this class.  The primary goal of this course is to develop the defensive knowledge\, skills\, and attitude essential to surviving a lethal threat or confrontation.  Instruction is presented in 5 lessons: Safety and Range Etiquette Review; Defensive Shooting Techniques; Defensive Loading Considerations and Techniques; Draw to the Ready Position; and Use of the Ready Position. \nThe course is designed for SEMI-AUTOMATIC pistols ONLY and will include both classroom presentations and live fire range exercises.  A combination of Dry Practice\, Shooting Drills covering – singles\, pairs\, and failure/malfunctions\, Cadence of Fire\, and Weapon Retention\, will help instill the “Defensive Mindset” in the graduates. \n  \n\n  \nRequired equipment: \n\nServiceable SEMI-AUTOMATIC handgun for concealed carry preferably 9mm or larger.\nAt least 3 spare magazines\nGood quality holster for the handgun that will remain open after the firearm is drawn.
