SUMMARY:Practical Application of Trauma Techniques 1/28/25
DESCRIPTION:Practical Application of Trauma Techniques (PATTs) is a 3-hour course limited to 12 students. The primary goal of this course is to educate the students about the most common traumas likely to be seen while conducting firearms shooting and training and how to handle them. Throughout the class students will learn about gear that they can carry and how to use it properly. Furthermore\, there will be information about current medical options to treat gunshot wound and other firearm-related trauma. \nAfter a brief PowerPoint explaining the equipment and its usage; the course will turn into practical (hands-on) stations where students will conduct exercises themselves. Practical stations will be using real-world experience to develop the scenarios. \nThe stations will include\, but not be limited to:  \n\nApplication of tourniquets on both arm and leg\nApplication of chest seals\nApplication of hemostatic agents\nApplication of Nasopharyngeal airways\nApplication of needle decompression\nScenario based situations using equipment available\n\nEquipment Requirements:  \n\nEquipment required to conduct course will be provided\nStudents should bring pen and paper for note taking\nUse of fake blood may get on clothing\, adjust accordingly\nRecommended that students bring their own medical equipment for evaluation\nSimilar equipment used will likely be available for purchase\n\nStudents will receive a 20% discount on trauma and first aid products the day of the class.

Designed to be the sequel to the Free Ladies Basic Introduction to Handguns\, this class begins with a safety review and quickly moves onto the range for live fire. \nOn the range and in the classroom the instructor will strive to cultivate a positive and encouraging learning environment while addressing all students’ questions or concerns.  By the end of the class\, students will have developed their understanding of stance\, grip\, breath control\, sight alignment and trigger control\, and be able to demonstrate the proper loading/unloading procedures for their particular firearm. \nThe primary goal for these two classes is to create confident and competent women shooters who can add to the fiber of Centerfire’s clientele and gain personal empowerment by participating in the shooting sports. \nAll range time and targets are provided by Centerfire. \nThe student is required to provide a handgun\, or rent one from Centerfire\, and at least 30 rounds of ammunition. DESCRIPTION:This is a 2 Day Course \nDay 1 Classroom –  5:30PM to 9:30PM \nDay 2 Range – 5:30PM to 9:30PM \n\nBasic Defensive Pistol -This is an 8 hour course limited to 8 students. This is a high intensity course that involves the use of advanced handgun skills! Students must complete the Into to Defensive Pistol Course or comparable training PRIOR to signing up for this class.  The primary goal of this course is to develop the defensive knowledge\, skills\, and attitude essential to surviving a lethal threat or confrontation.  Instruction is presented in 5 lessons: Safety and Range Etiquette Review; Defensive Shooting Techniques; Defensive Loading Considerations and Techniques; Draw to the Ready Position; and Use of the Ready Position. \nThe course is designed for SEMI-AUTOMATIC pistols ONLY and will include both classroom presentations and live fire range exercises.  A combination of Dry Practice\, Shooting Drills covering – singles\, pairs\, and failure/malfunctions\, Cadence of Fire\, and Weapon Retention\, will help instill the “Defensive Mindset” in the graduates. \n  \n\n  \nRequired equipment: \n\nServiceable SEMI-AUTOMATIC handgun for concealed carry preferably 9mm or larger.\nAt least 3 spare magazines\nGood quality holster for the handgun that will remain open after the firearm is drawn. Strong side hip holsters are advised\, either inside the waist band or outside the waist band. Continuity during training is essential to being able to perform in a high stress environment. \n  \nThe class is held in our training room and will involve the use of UNLOADED firearms and support gear. The techniques taught in this class are based off of defensive tactics and real world gun handling skills. The subject matter is serious and the training can be physically demanding. Students must display the correct attitude towards safety and responsible use of their firearm at all times. \n  \nOther goals of this course are for the student to have an opportunity to “test” their support gear\, concealment garment and holster BEFORE conducting live-fire exercises. It is extremely common for students to discover flaws in their carry method once they begin working with a holster\, magazine pouch and from concealment. This class acts as an audition for the chosen firearm and support gear BEFORE moving on the Basic Defensive Pistol Course. \n  \nRequired equipment: \n\nServiceable SEMI-AUTOMATIC handgun for concealed carry preferably 9mm or larger.\nAt least 3 spare magazines\nGood quality holster for the handgun that will remain open after the firearm is drawn. DESCRIPTION:Basic Pistol Shooting Course 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM \n\n  \nBasic Pistol Shooting Course – This course is geared to the novice shooter.  This class is recommended for those shooters who want to improve their shooting skills.  The course begins with a review of firearm safety\, range rules\, shooting terminology\, and moves quickly into shooting skills development.  Classroom demonstrations\, lectures\, and drills will be utilized to ensure the students understanding of the shooting fundamentals.  On the range the instructor will combine the classroom drills with live fire exercises developed to improve the students shooting.  Each student will be evaluated for their understanding of grip\, sight picture\, trigger and breath control\, and stance.  Each student will be required to demonstrate the proper loading\, unloading and immediate action drills for their particular firearm. \n***FIREARMS BROUGHT FOR USE DURING QUALIFICATION MUST BE UNLOADED (INCLUDING MAGAZINES) and CONTAINED WITHIN A HOLSTER\, CASE or BAG\, with AMMO BOXES CLEARLY LABLED WITH THE STUDENTS NAME. DESCRIPTION:Basic Pistol Shooting Course 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM \n\n  \nBasic Pistol Shooting Course – This course is geared to the novice shooter.  This class is recommended for those shooters who want to improve their shooting skills.  The course begins with a review of firearm safety\, range rules\, shooting terminology\, and moves quickly into shooting skills development.  Classroom demonstrations\, lectures\, and drills will be utilized to ensure the students understanding of the shooting fundamentals.  On the range the instructor will combine the classroom drills with live fire exercises developed to improve the students shooting.  Each student will be evaluated for their understanding of grip\, sight picture\, trigger and breath control\, and stance.  Each student will be required to demonstrate the proper loading\, unloading and immediate action drills for their particular firearm. \n***FIREARMS BROUGHT FOR USE DURING QUALIFICATION MUST BE UNLOADED (INCLUDING MAGAZINES) and CONTAINED WITHIN A HOLSTER\, CASE or BAG\, with AMMO BOXES CLEARLY LABLED WITH THE STUDENTS NAME. Students must complete the Into to Defensive Pistol Course or comparable training PRIOR to signing up for this class.  The primary goal of this course is to develop the defensive knowledge\, skills\, and attitude essential to surviving a lethal threat or confrontation.  Instruction is presented in 5 lessons: Safety and Range Etiquette Review; Defensive Shooting Techniques; Defensive Loading Considerations and Techniques; Draw to the Ready Position; and Use of the Ready Position. \nThe course is designed for SEMI-AUTOMATIC pistols ONLY and will include both classroom presentations and live fire range exercises.  A combination of Dry Practice\, Shooting Drills covering – singles\, pairs\, and failure/malfunctions\, Cadence of Fire\, and Weapon Retention\, will help instill the “Defensive Mindset” in the graduates. \n  \n\n  \nRequired equipment: \n\nServiceable SEMI-AUTOMATIC handgun for concealed carry preferably 9mm or larger.\nAt least 3 spare magazines\nGood quality holster for the handgun that will remain open after the firearm is drawn. DESCRIPTION:This is a 2 Day Course \nDay 1 Classroom –  5:30PM to 9:30PM \nDay 2 Range – 5:30PM to 9:30PM \n\nBasic Defensive Pistol -This is an 8 hour course limited to 8 students. This is a high intensity course that involves the use of advanced handgun skills! Students must complete the Into to Defensive Pistol Course or comparable training PRIOR to signing up for this class.  The primary goal of this course is to develop the defensive knowledge\, skills\, and attitude essential to surviving a lethal threat or confrontation.  Instruction is presented in 5 lessons: Safety and Range Etiquette Review; Defensive Shooting Techniques; Defensive Loading Considerations and Techniques; Draw to the Ready Position; and Use of the Ready Position. \nThe course is designed for SEMI-AUTOMATIC pistols ONLY and will include both classroom presentations and live fire range exercises.  A combination of Dry Practice\, Shooting Drills covering – singles\, pairs\, and failure/malfunctions\, Cadence of Fire\, and Weapon Retention\, will help instill the “Defensive Mindset” in the graduates. \n  \n\n  \nRequired equipment: \n\nServiceable SEMI-AUTOMATIC handgun for concealed carry preferably 9mm or larger.\nAt least 3 spare magazines\nGood quality holster for the handgun that will remain open after the firearm is drawn.
