DESCRIPTION:Event description:\nIntro to Defensive Pistol Course 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM \n\n  \nIntro to Defensive Pistol\n \nIntro to Defensive Pistol -This is a two hour\, non-shooting class and is the prerequisite to the Basic Defensive Pistol Course. \n  \nRequired equipment: \n\nServiceable SEMI-AUTOMATIC handgun for concealed carry preferably 9mm or larger.\nAt least 3 spare magazines\nGood quality holster for the handgun that will remain open after the firearm is drawn. Strong side hip holsters are advised\, either inside the waist band or outside the waist band. No cross-draw or shoulder holsters please.\nGood quality belt that will support the holster.\nGood quality magazine pouch\nTrousers ( pants for the ladies ) that have belt loops….for the belt\nConcealment garment ( vest or jacket )\n(5) dummy rounds of appropriate caliber to your chosen handgun. Please DO NOT get plastic ones they will not survive the class.\n\nThis is a SEMI-AUTOMATIC pistol ONLY class and is designed to introduce fundamental defensive pistol tactics that will be consistent with techniques taught in all of our Centerfire Courses. Continuity during training is essential to being able to perform in a high stress environment. \n  \nThe class is held in our training room and will involve the use of UNLOADED firearms and support gear. The techniques taught in this class are based off of defensive tactics and real world gun handling skills. The subject matter is serious and the training can be physically demanding. Students must display the correct attitude towards safety and responsible use of their firearm at all times. \n  \nOther goals of this course are for the student to have an opportunity to “test” their support gear\, concealment garment and holster BEFORE conducting live-fire exercises. It is extremely common for students to discover flaws in their carry method once they begin working with a holster\, magazine pouch and from concealment. DESCRIPTION:Basic Pistol Shooting Course 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM \n\n  \nBasic Pistol Shooting Course – This course is geared to the novice shooter.  This class is recommended for those shooters who want to improve their shooting skills.  The course begins with a review of firearm safety\, range rules\, shooting terminology\, and moves quickly into shooting skills development.  Classroom demonstrations\, lectures\, and drills will be utilized to ensure the students understanding of the shooting fundamentals.  On the range the instructor will combine the classroom drills with live fire exercises developed to improve the students shooting.  Each student will be evaluated for their understanding of grip\, sight picture\, trigger and breath control\, and stance.  Each student will be required to demonstrate the proper loading\, unloading and immediate action drills for their particular firearm. \n***FIREARMS BROUGHT FOR USE DURING QUALIFICATION MUST BE UNLOADED (INCLUDING MAGAZINES) and CONTAINED WITHIN A HOLSTER\, CASE or BAG\, with AMMO BOXES CLEARLY LABLED WITH THE STUDENTS NAME. When the student arrives they will check in at the registers and leave their ammo behind the front counter\, all UNLOADED and HOLSTERED/CASED firearms are welcome in the classroom.*** \n*NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM* \n  \nAll instruction materials\, range time\, and targets are provided by Centerfire. \nThe student is required to provide a handgun\, or rent one from Centerfire\, and at least 50 rounds of ammunition. DESCRIPTION:Ladies Basic Intro to Handguns Part Two 5:30pm – 8:00pm \n  \nLadies Basic Intro to Handguns part one is the prerequisite to this class and was designed to be the students first introduction to safe gun handling skills and the fundamentals of pistol shooting. Designed to be the sequel to the Free Ladies Basic Introduction to Handguns\, this class begins with a safety review and quickly moves onto the range for live fire. \nOn the range and in the classroom the instructor will strive to cultivate a positive and encouraging learning environment while addressing all students’ questions or concerns.  By the end of the class\, students will have developed their understanding of stance\, grip\, breath control\, sight alignment and trigger control\, and be able to demonstrate the proper loading/unloading procedures for their particular firearm. \nThe primary goal for these two classes is to create confident and competent women shooters who can add to the fiber of Centerfire’s clientele and gain personal empowerment by participating in the shooting sports. \nAll range time and targets are provided by Centerfire. \nThe student is required to provide a handgun\, or rent one from Centerfire\, and at least 30 rounds of ammunition. Eye and hearing protection will be provided. \n  \n ***NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM*** \n\n  \nBring your own gun or try one of our many Rental Firearms. \nLadies Shoot 1/2 Price on Wednesdays .  Please register for the firearms course if you would like to attend.
