DESCRIPTION:This is a 2 Day Course \nDay 1 Classroom –  5:30PM to 9:30PM \nDay 2 Range – 5:30PM to 9:30PM \n\nBasic Defensive Pistol -This is an 8 hour course limited to 8 students. This is a high intensity course that involves the use of advanced handgun skills! Students must complete the Into to Defensive Pistol Course or comparable training PRIOR to signing up for this class.  The primary goal of this course is to develop the defensive knowledge\, skills\, and attitude essential to surviving a lethal threat or confrontation.  Instruction is presented in 5 lessons: Safety and Range Etiquette Review; Defensive Shooting Techniques; Defensive Loading Considerations and Techniques; Draw to the Ready Position; and Use of the Ready Position. \nThe course is designed for SEMI-AUTOMATIC pistols ONLY and will include both classroom presentations and live fire range exercises.  A combination of Dry Practice\, Shooting Drills covering – singles\, pairs\, and failure/malfunctions\, Cadence of Fire\, and Weapon Retention\, will help instill the “Defensive Mindset” in the graduates. \n  \n\n  \nRequired equipment: \n\nServiceable SEMI-AUTOMATIC handgun for concealed carry preferably 9mm or larger.\nAt least 3 spare magazines\nGood quality holster for the handgun that will remain open after the firearm is drawn. Strong side hip holsters are advised\, either inside the waist band or outside the waist band. No cross-draw or shoulder holsters please.\nGood quality belt that will support the holster.\nGood quality magazine pouch\n300 rounds of quality ammunition for the handgun.\nBilled cap\nEye protection\nHearing protection\nTrousers ( pants for the ladies ) that have belt loops….for the belt\nLong sleeved shirts with snug collars are recommended\nConcealment garment ( vest or jacket )\n(5) dummy rounds of appropriate caliber to your chosen handgun. Please DO NOT get plastic ones they will not survive the class.\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Basic Pistol Shooting Course 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM \n\n  \nBasic Pistol Shooting Course – This course is geared to the novice shooter.  This class is recommended for those shooters who want to improve their shooting skills.  The course begins with a review of firearm safety\, range rules\, shooting terminology\, and moves quickly into shooting skills development.  Classroom demonstrations\, lectures\, and drills will be utilized to ensure the students understanding of the shooting fundamentals.  On the range the instructor will combine the classroom drills with live fire exercises developed to improve the students shooting.  Each student will be evaluated for their understanding of grip\, sight picture\, trigger and breath control\, and stance.  Each student will be required to demonstrate the proper loading\, unloading and immediate action drills for their particular firearm. \n***FIREARMS BROUGHT FOR USE DURING QUALIFICATION MUST BE UNLOADED (INCLUDING MAGAZINES) and CONTAINED WITHIN A HOLSTER\, CASE or BAG\, with AMMO BOXES CLEARLY LABLED WITH THE STUDENTS NAME. When the student arrives they will check in at the registers and leave their ammo behind the front counter\, all UNLOADED and HOLSTERED/CASED firearms are welcome in the classroom.*** \n*NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM* \n  \nAll instruction materials\, range time\, and targets are provided by Centerfire. \nThe student is required to provide a handgun\, or rent one from Centerfire\, and at least 50 rounds of ammunition. Eye and hearing protection will be provided. \nAll graduates receive a Certificate of Completion \n
