DESCRIPTION:This is a 2 Day Course \nDay 1 Classroom –  5:30PM to 9:30PM \nDay 2 Range – 5:30PM to 9:30PM \n\nBasic Defensive Pistol -This is an 8 hour course limited to 8 students. This is a high intensity course that involves the use of advanced handgun skills! Students must complete the Into to Defensive Pistol Course or comparable training PRIOR to signing up for this class.  The primary goal of this course is to develop the defensive knowledge\, skills\, and attitude essential to surviving a lethal threat or confrontation.  Instruction is presented in 5 lessons: Safety and Range Etiquette Review; Defensive Shooting Techniques; Defensive Loading Considerations and Techniques; Draw to the Ready Position; and Use of the Ready Position. \nThe course is designed for SEMI-AUTOMATIC pistols ONLY and will include both classroom presentations and live fire range exercises.  A combination of Dry Practice\, Shooting Drills covering – singles\, pairs\, and failure/malfunctions\, Cadence of Fire\, and Weapon Retention\, will help instill the “Defensive Mindset” in the graduates. \n  \n\n  \nRequired equipment: \n\nServiceable SEMI-AUTOMATIC handgun for concealed carry preferably 9mm or larger.\nAt least 3 spare magazines\nGood quality holster for the handgun that will remain open after the firearm is drawn. Strong side hip holsters are advised\, either inside the waist band or outside the waist band. No cross-draw or shoulder holsters please.\nGood quality belt that will support the holster.\nGood quality magazine pouch\n300 rounds of quality ammunition for the handgun.\nBilled cap\nEye protection\nHearing protection\nTrousers ( pants for the ladies ) that have belt loops….for the belt\nLong sleeved shirts with snug collars are recommended\nConcealment garment ( vest or jacket )\n(5) dummy rounds of appropriate caliber to your chosen handgun. Please DO NOT get plastic ones they will not survive the class.\n\n

SUMMARY:Practical Application of Trauma Techniques 11/9/23
DESCRIPTION:Practical Application of Trauma Techniques (PATTs) is a 2-1/2-hour course limited to 12 students. The primary goal of this course is to educate the students about the most common traumas likely to be seen while conducting firearms shooting and training and how to handle them. Throughout the class students will learn about gear that they can carry and how to use it properly. Furthermore\, there will be information about current medical options to treat gunshot wound and other firearm-related trauma. \nAfter a brief PowerPoint explaining the equipment and its usage; the course will turn into practical (hands-on) stations where students will conduct exercises themselves. Practical stations will be using real-world experience to develop the scenarios. \nThe stations will include\, but not be limited to:  \n\nApplication of tourniquets on both arm and leg\nApplication of chest seals\nApplication of hemostatic agents\nApplication of Nasopharyngeal airways\nApplication of needle decompression\nScenario based situations using equipment available\n\nEquipment Requirements:  \n\nEquipment required to conduct course will be provided\nStudents should bring pen and paper for note taking\nUse of fake blood may get on clothing\, adjust accordingly\nRecommended that students bring their own medical equipment for evaluation\nSimilar equipment used will likely be available for purchase\n\nStudents will receive a 20% discount on trauma and first aid products the day of the class.
